Privacy policy

The short version: we don't know who you are, and we'd like to keep it that way.

What we don't do

• No accounts. We never ask for an email, name or password.
• No cookies. None at all — which is why there's no cookie banner.
• No third-party trackers, no pixels, no browser fingerprinting.
• No selling or sharing of data — we don't have any to sell.

What stays on your device

rainsound.app uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) for two things: remembering your last mix and volume, and keeping the mixes you choose to save. That information never leaves your device — we cannot see it. You can erase it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

If you use the site offline, your browser also keeps a technical copy of the page and sounds (the service-worker cache). It is equally local and equally private.

Shared links

A mix link contains only sound volume levels (for example, "light rain at 50%"). It contains nothing about you.

Partner links

One place on this site, the player page, carries a single clearly labelled partner link, to the sleep-mask maker Manta Sleep. It sits under a free suggestion that costs nothing to act on, and it is marked as a partner link and carries a rel="sponsored" attribute. If you follow it and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

It is a plain outbound link. Nothing from Manta Sleep is loaded into this site: no script, no pixel, no iframe, no cookie, and we send them nothing about you. Their reporting tells us only anonymous totals, such as how many clicks a page sent, never who clicked. Once you follow the link you are on another company's site, under its privacy practices, not ours.

Statistics

There are none today. If we ever add visit counting, it will be a cookieless, aggregate tool (anonymous page-view counts), and this page will say so first.

Hosting

Like any website, our hosting provider records technical requests (IP address, date, page requested) in its standard server logs for security and operations. We don't use those logs to identify anyone, and they expire on the host's normal schedule.
